On a sunny day, Nobita, Shizuka, Gian, and Suneo go to the Dinosaur Expo. After being mocked by Gian and Suneo, Nobita, in desperation, starts to blabber again and vows to find a real dinosaur to show them. At a children's archaeological experience site, Nobita discovers an egg-shaped stone, which he takes as a dinosaur egg fossil and brings home carefully, asking Doraemon to hatch it with the time-pack. Unexpectedly, after a day and night of hatching, two small dinosaurs that he has never seen before actually emerge from the colorful egg. These little guys, named Mini and Jiu, bring endless fun to Nobita, but raising dinosaurs in modern society is no easy task. With no other choice, the friends board the time machine to take the small dinosaurs back to the Cretaceous period, and their great adventure begins... This film is a commemorative work for the 50th anniversary of the "Doraemon" manga serialization and is also the 40th film in the "Doraemon" series.
