At the beginning of the founding of the nation, the ancient land of China was full of joy, yet behind the merriment, cold undercurrents surged. In Yuzhou, Sichuan Province, the once-powerful bandit leader Bai Jingzhai was brought to justice by the people's government, and rumors of hauntings in the old house where he once lived grew more sinister. Long Fei, an eleven young man from Beijing, worked as a clerk at the local archives, where the dormitory was requisitioned from Bai Jingzhai's old residence. Because everyone feared ghosts, Long Fei had to live in the dormitory alone and faced a series of strange supernatural events. Soon, a murder occurred at the archives, prompting criminal police captain Xiao Ke to move in for investigation. During this process, both Xiao Ke and Long Fei not only sensed something unusual about themselves but also inadvertently discovered the secret of a spy organization called the "Plum Blossom Party"… This film is adapted from Zhang Baorui's novel "The Plum Blossom Party."
