"Family Values" tells the story of Yang Zhengmin, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Congress, and Niu Zhihao, the Director of the Water Resources Department, who became in-laws after working together since the early 1950s. Yang Zhengmin is open-minded and kind-hearted; Niu Zhihao is honest but narrow-minded.
