Citizens of New London, Bernard Marx (played by Harry Lloyd) and Lenina Crowne (played by Jessica Brown Findlay), know only strict social order and a perfect drug called soma, which provides instant gratification and an all-pervasive sexual culture. However, in a quest to explore a life beyond societal constraints, the two embark on a vacation in the Savage Lands and become embroiled in a terrifying riot. Bernard and Lenina are saved by the savage John (played by Alden Ehrenreich), who helps them escape back to New London.
