Ethan (Ethan Embry) and Hailey (Thora Birch) are siblings who share a close bond. Their parents, Katherine (Harley Jane Kozak) and Mike (Jamey Sheridan), divorced years ago, and the only wish of the two children is to reunite their mother and father during Christmas, for which they devise a mischievous plan. A wealthy businessman, Tony (Kevin Nealon), unexpectedly disrupts Ethan and Hailey's plan; he is immediately smitten with the beautiful Katherine and launches a passionate courtship.
