Derrick Thompson (played by Dwayne Johnson), a burly and brutish professional hockey player, earned the nickname "Tooth Fairy" due to his frequent habit of knocking out opponents' teeth on the ice. As times change and new talents emerge, Derrick gradually becomes a washed-up benchwarmer. His arrogance and bravado leave him deeply disappointed, leading him to frequently crush others' dreams with his cold words. Derrick's girlfriend, Carly (played by Ashley Judd), has adorable children, with the youngest daughter in the midst of losing her baby teeth and full of imaginative thoughts about the mysterious Tooth Fairy.
