The story follows university students Chunyu and others who are drawn into an inescapable game called "19th Layer." Chunyu, who has had a strained relationship with her father since childhood, gets caught in the inescapable game "19th Layer." In the game, Chunyu meets the intelligent and composed Gao Xuan, the physically powerful Dou Dou, and the quirky Yang Bawan. Together with her friends, she experiences challenges filled with shadow puppets in the “Haunted Building,” and is pursued by puppet figures in a desolate village, among other levels.
