Grace Sachs (played by Nicole Kidman) leads the ideal life she always envisioned: she is a successful psychotherapist, has a remarkable doctor husband, and a son attending an elite private school. She is also preparing to publish a book on gender issues titled "You Should Have Known," which primarily criticizes women for not listening to their instincts and failing to see the signs presented by their partners. However, just weeks before its release, a fatal incident involving her suddenly missing husband reveals significant cracks in Grace's life, cracks she had ignored in the past, not trusting her instincts. As the situation escalates, she must sacrifice her current life for the sake of her son. Hugh Grant plays Jonathan Sachs, a highly regarded pediatric oncologist who gives the impression of a loyal husband and good father, but he had shown unusual signs prior to his disappearance. Noah Jupe plays their 12-year-old son Henry Sachs.
