After nearly seven years of preparation, "Tiny Beautiful Things," developed by "Big Little Lies" stars Reese Witherspoon and Laura Dern, has finally secured an official eight-episode order from Hulu. This half-hour comedy also stars Kathryn Hahn from "WandaVision," with Liz Tigelaar, creator of "Little Fires Everywhere," serving as the showrunner. Reese and Laura met the book's original author, Cheryl Strayed, during the filming of "Wild," where they both expressed interest in adapting Liz's book and quickly secured the rights. In 2015, they brought the project to HBO and invited Cheryl and her husband to be involved in the adaptation. However, it was only during "Big Little Lies" that they reunited (also having plans for another adaptation of Liane Moriarty's work), but this project did not progress. Now, with Hulu's involvement, the adaptation journey of this book gains a fresh start. Released in 2012, the book made it onto The New York Times bestseller list; it compiles Cheryl's columns written under the pseudonym "Dead Sugar," where she provided marriage advice on an online literary site called . With multiple timelines, even as her own life fell apart, "Dead Sugar" displays remarkable candor, warmth, and courage in uncovering the beauty, struggles, and humor within. Sometimes we are not beyond saving, as often we find redemption within ourselves.
