This series is a co-production between BritBox UK and PBS Masterpiece in the USA, adapted from the bestselling novel of the same name by Anthony Horowitz, the creator of "Foyle's War." Horowitz himself wrote the script, consisting of 6 episodes. The author states that the narrative of the novel is influenced by Agatha Christie. It features a story within a story, revolving around editor Susan Ryeland, who receives an unfinished manuscript of the latest novel by writer Alan Conway, unaware that it will change her life forever. Anthony Horowitz is a British novelist and screenwriter, known for the "Alex Rider" series. His work "The House of Silk" is the only officially endorsed new Sherlock Holmes story by the Arthur Conan Doyle estate, along with another book titled "Moriarty." Horowitz was also selected by the Ian Fleming estate to write two James Bond novels.
