In an age when magic has vanished, Princess Aletti (voiced by Saeko Kamijo) lives alone in a high castle tower, waiting for the knight who will come to marry her. To choose a suitor from many candidates, the king declares that whoever brings back the wizard's treasure can take the princess as his bride. Time passes, and the princess spends her days reading books. One night, a brave warrior sneaks into the princess's room to profess his love but is rejected. After sending her visitor away, a little witch emerges from a secret passage and tells the princess about the source of the magic's failure; she has also lost her powers and can no longer return to her original form. The next morning, a wizard with magical powers (voiced by Gosho Aoyama) arrives at the castle in an airship to marry the princess. The wizard uses his magic to coerce the king into handing over the princess. However, after her conversation with the little witch the previous night, the princess realizes that she can no longer wait passively and should actively pursue the life she desires. She gathers her belongings and slips out of the castle under the cover of night...
