This show is based on the novel of the same name and the 1976 movie adaptation. The series will tell the story of a new alien (played by Chiwetel Ejiofor) who arrives on Earth at a pivotal moment in human evolution, facing his past and determining the future of humanity. Chiwetel Ejiofor's alien is a brand new character with a fresh backstory, and he belongs to the same race as the alien portrayed by David Bowie in the film. Bill Nighy stars as Thomas Newton, the classic character played by David Bowie. Naomie Harris plays Justin Falls, a brilliant scientist and engineer.
