The BritBox UK limited series "Friend or Foe" has started filming, with Damian Lewis officially signing on and Guy Pearce replacing Dominic West. This series is adapted from Ben Macintyre's bestselling non-fiction work of the same name, with "Homeland" creator Alexander Cary handling the adaptation and "The Reckoning" director Nick Murphy at the helm. The story revolves around the complex relationship between Kim Philby (played by Pearce) and his MI6 colleague and close friend Nicholas Elliott (played by Lewis), detailing Philby's betrayal as a double agent for both MI6 and the KGB. The cast also includes Anna Maxwell Martin, Stephen Kunken, and Adrian Edmondson. This Cold War espionage thriller is regarded as having the spirit of Ian Fleming and John le Carré; in fact, the book's afterword is penned by the master of spy stories, John le Carré.
