After the death of his father, Xu Dinggui (played by Andy Lau), who is in the United States, returns to Hong Kong at his uncle's invitation to inherit the estate. Xu Dinggui has a half-brother, Xu Dingfu, who is very unhappy about his brother coming to claim his share of the inheritance. Coincidentally, their uncle requires Dinggui to work at the company and perform well in order to receive the inheritance smoothly.
