Based on the novel of the same name by Nico Walker, the story involves post-traumatic stress disorder. It tells the story of a man from a wealthy family who once had a wonderful life. He then moves away from home to become an Army medic in Iraq, and upon his return home, he suffers from PTSD. He subsequently becomes addicted to drugs and accumulates debt, even robbing 11 banks.
