"News Reporter" is adapted from the popular film of the same name, which was released in theaters in 2019 and drew significant attention for confronting Japan's recent political crimes and scandals. The film received three major awards at the 43rd Japan Academy Prize, including Best Picture, thanks to its stunning handling of social taboos, thrilling plot development, and excellent visual effects, along with many other film awards.
