The film is adapted from the award-winning novel of the same name by Jumpei Matsuura, directed by Haruhiko Arai. It tells a sad yet pure love story between the director Tsukitani (played by Masaki Ayano), who struggles in the gradually declining pink film industry, the aspiring screenwriter Ikan (played by Yutaka Emoto), and the actress Shoko (played by Honami Satou) whom they both love. Their shared dreams of filmmaking gradually crumble, and their lives begin to intertwine.
