AMC, the award-winning network behind four-time Emmy-winning series "Mad Men," two-time Emmy-winning series "Breaking Bad," Emmy-nominated "Murder," and Golden Globe-nominated and highest-rated series "The Walking Dead," is set to launch its first original documentary miniseries, "The Making of The Mob: New York." This eight-part epic series employs a docu-drama format to tell the tumultuous story of Charles “Lucky” Luciano, Meyer Lansky, Benjamin “Bugsy” Siegel, and others as they rise from street-level thugs to notorious gangsters deeply involved in the illegal liquor trade, their hands stained with blood and their reputations marred by crime. Narrated by Emmy-winning actor Ray Liotta, the series is produced by Stephen David Entertainment, known for creating award-winning docuseries like "The Men Who Built America" and "World Wars" for the History Channel. In addition to recreations and historical footage, "The Making of The Mob: New York" will feature exclusive interviews with several notable figures from gangster history, including former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani, Meyer Lansky II, Chazz Palminteri, Drea de Matteo, Joe Mantegna, Frankie Valli, lawyer and former Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman, who defended mobsters, and renowned historian and biographer David Pietrusza. Shedding light on the murky history of organized crime, "The Making of The Mob: New York" will premiere exclusively on AMC's new Monday night primetime slot following "Turn: Washington's Spies" starting June 15 at 10 PM.
