The story takes place in 1944, as World War II nears its end, and Japanese imperialism's offensive abroad is coming to a halt. After eight years of war, China faces a critical moment of life and death. The United States, China, and Britain plan a joint counterattack against the Japanese invaders. American Flying Tigers ace pilot Kahn flies a P-40 fighter plane over western Yunnan, only to be ambushed by the Japanese air force, who had received prior intelligence.
