At the end of the Tang Dynasty and the beginning of the Song Dynasty, in the East China Sea region, a plague ravaged the land, leaving the people in dire straits. Two immortals, Han Zhongli (played by Shi Yu) and Tieguai Li (played by Wu Dairong), meet by chance in their mission to save the common people and decide to go to the medicinal island east of the East China Sea to gather herbs. However, they get into a fierce battle with Prince Huai Long, and in a moment of desperation, Tieguai Li severely injures Prince Huai Long.
