Kōhei Inuzuka (voiced by Yuichi Nakamura), a high school math teacher, loses his wife and is left to care for their five-year-old daughter, Hinatsuki (voiced by Rina Endō). As a kind and responsible father, Kōhei lovingly takes care of his daughter, but he struggles particularly with cooking, and the two rely on takeout for their meals. One day, while enjoying cherry blossoms with his daughter, Kōhei meets his student, Kotori Iida (voiced by Saori Hayami), and learns that Kotori's mother runs a restaurant. Kōhei decides to take Hinatsuki there for a meal, only to find that the restaurant is run solely by the inexperienced Kotori. Determined to help, Kotori takes over the cooking, and before long, the three of them are cooking together. Thus, a heartwarming and humorous culinary tale unfolds between the dining table and the kitchen.
