The much-discussed new project of "Shakugan no Shana S" has finally revealed the truth in the July issue of Dengeki Bunko MAGAZINE—the new OVA of "Shakugan no Shana S" will be released at the end of the year. It has recently been announced that a total of 4 volumes will be produced for the OVA series, with Blu-ray and DVD releases scheduled simultaneously. The production team continues to be led by Takashi Watanabe of J.C.STAFF, and of course, since this is an OVA, any original source completions are impossible. The story depicts a side tale where Shana and Yuji experience a mental swap due to the effects of a magical tool. The first volume of the DVD and Blu-ray will go on sale starting October 23, 2009, priced at 5,775 yen and 6,825 yen respectively. Compared to the OVA of the first season of the TV anime, this OVA's joy index is noticeably below par.
