A masked man wakes up from a coma with no memory, but the first thing he sees is a strange woman with ears and a tail. Her name is Elulu (voiced by Ryoha Yuzuki). Elulu tells the man that she is a "subhuman" and that she and her kin live a simple life in the deep mountains, far from the city, relying on agriculture. The village chief bestows the name Hakaoro (voiced by Rikiya Koyama) upon the man, and from then on, Hakaoro lives a peaceful life in this tranquil mountain village. The village is inhabited by kind and happy people, and Hakaoro uses his wisdom to help the villagers cultivate their land, significantly increasing their food production, gaining great prestige among them. At the very moment the villagers celebrate their bountiful harvest, an ambitious feudal lord sets his greedy eyes upon them. The lord cuts their rations and increases taxes, placing an unbearable burden on the already impoverished villagers. Finally, pushed to their limits, the villagers revolt, and leading the brave uprising is none other than Hakaoro himself. Can they overthrow the decaying rule? Who is Hakaoro's true identity? All these questions are answered as the war progresses.
