In this world, there is English bread, French baguettes, and German whole wheat, but there is no so-called Japanese bread. For the纯正日本人少年东和马 (voiced by 小林由美子), this is undeniably a regret. Therefore, with a deep affection for bread since childhood, 东和马 decides to embark on the harrowing path of bread-making, vowing to create a bread that represents Japan and to make Japanese bread dominate the world. 东和马's secret weapon is a pair of hands that are slightly warmer than average, known as the “hands of the sun.” Dough kneaded and fermented by these hands always brings surprises to diners. Along the way, 东和马 meets passionate youth 河内恭介 (voiced by 阪口周平) and the daughter of a bakery owner, 梓川月乃 (voiced by 大冢千寻).
