American Wall Street stock market tycoon Gordon Gekko (played by Michael Douglas) commands respect and fear in the financial world. In the relentless financial battles that unfold everywhere, he always emerges victorious. Bud Fox (played by Charlie Sheen), a recent graduate from New York University, is ambitious but lacks direction despite his enthusiasm. By chance, he encounters Gekko and uses insider information to help him make a fortune, quickly becoming one of Gekko's partners. Driven by his desire for money, beautiful women, and high society, Bud starts exploiting everyone around him to gather all profitable business intelligence for his own gain. Everything changes, however, when Gekko, in a greedy turn, wishes to dissolve and sell Blue Star Airlines, the company where Bud's father works. This prompts Bud, who still retains a sense of conscience, to realize the truth. Using all the stock market tactics Gekko taught him, he strikes back against the tycoon and helps his father save Blue Star Airlines. However, due to his illegal manipulation of insider trading, Bud must face the cold iron bars of prison...
