Kasu Haru (voiced by Yoshitsugu Matsuoka) is an ordinary boy. One day, an accident pulls him and his cousin Kasu Sei (voiced by Ayaka Suwa) into a vortex leading to another world, and in the chaos, Haru and Sei get separated. To find Sei, the two return to their original world, and Haru follows various clues to become a transfer student at the Royal Academy of Magic. Among the academy, Haru meets seven unique magic book wielders: the meticulous and polite Asagami Lilith (voiced by Haruka Tomatsu), the assassination expert with strong action ability Kazama Levi (voiced by Ayane Sakura), the powerful mage who keeps others at bay, Yamana Myrle (voiced by Yōko Hikasa), the carefree and bright Fudō Aki (voiced by Ryōka Yuzuki), the naive and silent Kamizuki Eirin (voiced by Aya Uchida), the mysterious and individualistic Kurata Yui (voiced by Rie Murakawa), and Liserrot (voiced by Nao Tōyama).
