The story takes place at the end of the 21st century, when magic is no longer just a part of myths and legends, but has merged with science and superpowers, becoming a known existence. The government even established the First High School attached to the Magic University to cultivate talent in this field, in order to better serve the nation. Tatsuya Shiba (voiced by Yuichi Nakamura) and his younger sister Miyuki Shiba (voiced by Saori Hayami) are new students at the magic high school. Miyuki is an outstanding "Transformational" ability user, while Tatsuya is a backup and considered a "Weed" in the second course. During their time at the academy, the siblings meet many interesting companions— the carefree and easy-going Erika Chiba (voiced by Yumi Uchiyama), the timid and gentle Mizuki Shibata (voiced by Satomi Satou), the honest and brave Leo Shichijo (voiced by Takuya Tsuchiya), and the dedicated and hardworking Kanou Yoshida (voiced by Atsushi Tamura). As they learn, the secrets that exist within the school begin to gradually unveil.
