Tsukamoto Tenma (voiced by Ami Koshimizu) is a scatterbrained high school student whose upbeat personality fills her life with joy. However, the naive Tenma has a crush on a boy named Okarun Kazuma (voiced by Ryohei Kimura), which occasionally troubles her optimistic heart. Okarun, sporting a watermelon hairstyle, excels academically and is athletic, but behind his seemingly perfect exterior lies strange behavior and a secret of his own; he is suffering from a terminal illness and does not have long to live. Boring Kenta (voiced by Hiroki Takahashi), who has a wild appearance and a rough personality, has a soft and innocent side connected to Tenma, yet the oblivious Tenma seems unaware of his feelings. When he gathers the courage to confess to Tenma, the person who appears before him is the straightforward school idol, Sawakizaka Airi (voiced by Yui Horie). Faced with Kenta's passionate confession, Airi develops strange feelings. In Yagami High School, the scatterbrained yet joyful campus life unfolds every day.
