The so-called "insects" are evil beings that exist beyond the scope of scientific explanation. They specifically attach themselves to boys and girls with dreams, granting them the ability to use supernatural powers, which the government refers to as "Insect Hosts." When Insect Hosts use their powers to fulfill their dreams, they create many bizarre phenomena in society, causing panic among citizens. In response to the existence of Insect Hosts, the government has established an organization called the "Special Environmental Protection Agency," which is responsible for monitoring Insect Hosts and eliminating the insects. Once the insects on a host are eradicated, the Insect Host becomes a "Defector." Ironically, the individuals working in this agency are themselves Insect Hosts. In the continuous battle against the insects, they are also gradually inching closer to their dreams.
