This drama is adapted from a manga of the same name, telling the story of Sato Shinohara, a daughter from an ordinary family in a backstreet, who marries into an upper-class family that has been established since the Edo period, continuing for 400 years. However, this is not a Cinderella story of rising from rags to riches, but rather the beginning of a bloody storm and a battle of human nature. Beyond the usual issues faced by wealthy families, such as mother-in-law and daughter-in-law conflicts, first wives and mistresses, and inheritance wars, how will Sato confront these demons and protect her most cherished people and things? Sato (played by Taoka Tsubasa) is a girl who grew up in the countryside and runs a public dining hall with her mother. Strong and cheerful, she is beloved by regulars as the face of the dining hall. She accepts her boyfriend Kentaro Shimoyama's (played by Kohei Matsushita) proposal, but faces opposition from the in-laws due to their different social statuses. Nevertheless, she believes in pure-hearted Kentaro and elopes with him. Although the Shimoyama family remains unsupportive, and she struggles with the various rules of high society, she knows that Kentaro wishes to make the Shimoyama family more ordinary and decides to fight alongside him in the Shimoyama household.
