This is a love story about two musical geniuses. The son of a famous pianist, the music academy's illustrious figure "Prince Chikyu" Shinichi Chikyu (voiced by Tomokazu Seki), meets a renowned conductor during a trip to Europe in his youth, inspiring him to dream of becoming an outstanding conductor himself. However, as an adult, he is plagued by a fear of flying and can only remain in his home country, unable to pursue further studies in Europe. Disheartened, he drowns his sorrows in alcohol, and upon waking, he finds himself lying in a garbage dump! This dump turns out to be the apartment of "Noda Mei" Keiko Noda (voiced by Ayako Kawasumi), a quirky and messy girl who not only lives next to Chikyu but is also his classmate. Noda plays the piano spontaneously and without structure, resulting in chaotic sounds, but Chikyu discovers her rare musical talent. Soon, Chikyu meets more eccentric and diverse individuals, and in his interactions with them, he realizes they are all exceptionally talented musical outcasts. Once arrogant, he comes to a new understanding of himself and strives tirelessly with them towards their grand musical aspirations.
