This animated film is a paper-cutting piece, adapted from the same-named opera. The character design is by Ke Ming and the background design is by Liu Feng. Zhang Fei received a military order, thinking he could go to the front lines again, but was surprised to be assigned to a minor official position. Hot-tempered as he was, he initially wanted to refuse the order, but his retinue reminded him that this was likely a test from the military strategist Zhuge Liang. Thus, he took office and handled his first case. While the local constable was stealing watermelons in Mr. Yao's field, he encountered Mr. Yao teasing a young woman holding a baby. Although he intended to intervene, under Mr. Yao's threats and temptations, the constable agreed to provide false testimony to help Mr. Yao counter-accuse the woman of stealing melons. In front of Zhang Fei, Mr. Yao and the woman each held their ground, leaving him confused about how to proceed. Eventually, he recalled Zhuge Liang's wisdom, and clever plans filled his mind.
