The story takes place in the 1980s. Actress Yu Zhu (played by Chen Shu) has always been the pillar of her theater troupe. She is kind-hearted, straightforward, stubborn, and carefree, making her an irreplaceable member of the group. Journalist Wang Fanyang (played by Zhai Tianlin) admires Yu Zhu, but their age difference poses a significant obstacle, leading Yu Zhu to keep her distance.
