On the first day of their return from overseas, newlyweds Xiao Wen and He Xuewei encounter an unimaginable tragedy—the sudden death of the famous drug rehabilitation expert and Xiao Wen's father. He Xuewei's former lover, a police officer named Xun Bing who grew up in the He family, takes over the case.
