"The Plant Theatre," a 2016 Taiwanese anthology series. This series features eight renowned directors, including Golden Horse and Golden Bell winner Wang Xiaodi, Tsai Ming-liang, Chen Yuxun, Qu You-ning, Wang Ming-tai, Hsu Chieh-hui, Hsu Fu-jun, and An Zhe-yi, who invested in the talent cultivation of 24 newcomers and invited stars like Rainie Yang, Wu Kang-jen, and Lan Zhenglong to participate in the "Plant Theatre" series. The Plant Theatre series will consist of four main genres (coming-of-age romance, suspense thrillers, supernatural horror, and adaptations), producing a total of eight dramas in each genre, with two dramas per series, totaling 52 episodes. "A Thousand Walls in the Dream" is the second installment of the supernatural horror series, following "The Lego House." Xiaoqing dreams of hands pulling at her feet; she rides the bus, attends classes, goes to work, and even when she looks down while bathing, the hand pulling her transforms into a child's hand with a snake's body behind it… When she awakens from the dream, she screams. She glances at some sketches on the table, reaches out for a pen to make corrections, and just as she is modifying the eyes in her drawing, a real hand starts creeping out from underneath the blanket she kicked off the bed—a hand slowly appears from behind her toes and grips her foot through the gaps between her toes. Xiaoqing screams—then, she truly awakens… Xiaoqing, who works at an animation company, has been having nightmares every night for as long as she can remember. Having relied on her younger brother since childhood, she only hopes to work hard to provide a good life for the two of them, always considering her own affairs less important. Qiguang, talented yet lacking a clear direction for his future, studies design and works in his uncle's architecture firm. Following an accident in sixth grade, he developed an insurmountable psychological shadow, leading to a bad habit of leaving things unsaid and a tendency to be indecisive. When Xiaoqing meets Qiguang, the emotions and repression they both hide seem to be naturally understood and released through their interaction… However, life, which cannot be controlled, doesn't become less cruel merely due to a beautiful connection... We can design our own life blueprint. But ghosts cannot design a blueprint for reincarnation; they can only continue to wander in this world... Not wanting to forget, yearning to see again, so still wanting to remain in this world.
