In 1944, under the puppet rule of Manchukuo, underground party member Song Zhuowen (played by Qin Hao), disguised as a railway patrolman, is mistaken by the head of the Special Investigation Department, Guan Xue (played by Yang Mi), for her savior—who is actually Zhuowen's long-lost twin brother, Song Zhuowu (also played by Qin Hao). In order to uncover the primary mission of the Kwantung Army's section chief, Asano Daigo, in Harbin, Zhuowen cleverly uses Guan Xue to infiltrate the Special Investigation Department. However, Zhuowu suddenly appears, putting Zhuowen in an unexpected predicament.
