ABC has announced the development of the anthology series "Women of the Movement" under a submitted exclusive penalty. The series is penned by Marissa Jo Cerar and produced by multiple production companies including Jay-Z, Will Smith, and Aaron Kaplan. The first season of "Women of the Movement" is adapted from Devery S. Anderson's book "Emmett Till: The Murder That Shocked the World and Propelled the Civil Rights Movement." It tells the story of Mamie Till, who dedicated her life to seeking justice for her son Emmett Till, who was murdered in 1955, and ignited the Black civil rights movement.
