This series is adapted from Sarah Perry's novel of the same name, telling the story of recently widowed Cora Seaborne (played by Claire Danes), who moves from London to Essex to investigate rumors about a mysterious serpent. Cora forms an unexpected bond with the village's vicar, Will Ransome (played by Tom Hiddleston), but when tragedy strikes, locals accuse her of attracting this mysterious creature.
