After the mainstay of the Yao family passed away, the elderly lady Qin Jinzhi (played by Zhang Shaohua) raised her children all by herself. Among all the parents in the world, Chinese parents are perhaps the most worried. They should be at an age to enjoy life, yet their children still make them constantly concerned. Looking at these sons, some endure as teachers in middle schools, struggling for years to achieve promotions; some aspire to take on large construction projects as contractors; some are dreaming of climbing the bureaucratic ladder; some drive taxis braving the wind and rain to earn a meager living; some work in factories yet suffer from financial obsession; some study hard in graduate school for a better future; while others, due to inherent disabilities, have become the biggest worry of their mother. The children have each started their own families and businesses, experiencing their own joys and sorrows. Though the palms and backs of their hands are both flesh, each dragon has nine offspring, each different, and with the influence of those close to them, everyone has their own little concerns. The elderly lady has labored all her life for her children, and is even more troubled by the thinning familial affection in the world today...
