Ron Williamson was born in 1953 in Ada, Oklahoma. After his baseball career faltered and he had to return home, his life plunged into darkness. In 1982, the murder of a young girl attracted significant attention in the local community. Lacking evidence, prosecutors and police conspired to convict Williamson, who awaited his fate in death row, stripped of everything except for the support of his family and an unverifiable truth: he was innocent. The deeply painful aspect of this true story is that Williamson suffered from severe bipolar disorder, which meant he lacked a proper understanding of reality and was unable to make sound decisions to clear his name. Yet, even in moments of madness, he continuously shouted his innocence in prison day and night.
