This documentary is a faithful record of Bob Dylan's 1965 tour in the UK. Director D.A. Pennebaker uses clear imagery to illustrate how different Bob Dylan was from The Beatles at that time. Compared to the contemporary "Don't Look Back," this film is more direct and profound, without the intentional idolization of its subject, even going so far as to include moments of unabashed mockery. However, no amount of calm camera work can hide the brilliant shine of young Dylan. In contrast to the older Dylan, the young version is undoubtedly arrogant, witty, and full of passion, with one segment featuring the Beat Generation representative Allen Ginsberg as a particularly precious highlight.
