The documentary tells the story of five Chinese teachers conducting a four-week Chinese-style teaching experiment at a secondary school in Hampshire, southern England. Chinese-style teaching is characterized by strictness and long hours. Chinese students consistently excel in some well-known international exams. But is it feasible to educate British secondary students using Chinese teaching methods? What do the participating teachers and students think? What are their experiences? As part of the experiment, the Chinese teachers took over a ninth-grade class consisting of 50 students. For four weeks, these students wore standardized school uniforms, arrived at school by 7 a.m. each day, and had long school days of up to 12 hours, with two meal breaks in between. A ceremony to raise the Chinese national flag was also held once a week. In class, the focus was mainly on taking notes. Additionally, there were group exercises, and students were responsible for cleaning the classroom.
