This documentary is the first in a series directed by Michael Apted that began filming in 1964. In 1964, Michael Apted filmed the documentary "7 Up" for the BBC, interviewing fourteen seven-year-old children from different social backgrounds in the UK, some from orphanages and some from upper-class families. Every seven years, Apted would revisit these children, listening to their dreams and discussing their lives. The cycle of life begins with the real lives of these fourteen seven-year-olds, their innocent faces filled with hopes and desires for life. "At seven, we see the future," and in this candid exchange of questions and answers, life unfolds in seven-year increments, delivering a profound portrayal. In 1964, when director Michael Apted first filmed this documentary, he was just an assistant. Through his continuous effort, he accumulated rich filming experience and became a renowned director.
