This is a documentary about Jacques Demy's film "[http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0062873/ Rochefort Girls]" (Demoiselles de Rochefort, 1966), blending on-set footage from the original filming and celebrations in Rochefort decades later to commemorate the film. 　　In 1967, the phenomenally successful director of Lola and the groundbreaking musical Les Parapluies de Cherbourg, Jacques Demy, arrived in the small port town of Rochefort and, along with his art director, decorated the entire town in a cheerful, almost surreal style for his next musical, Les Demoiselles de Rochefort. This highly acclaimed film, filled with songs that became integral to French popular culture, put the little town of Rochefort "on the map." Twenty-five years later, much has changed except for the fond memories of the people who worked on the film and the townsfolk. In this celebratory documentary, Agnes Varda, Jacques Demy's wife, reunites some of the cast and extras in Rochefort for recollections. In keeping with the thoroughly romantic nature of the musical, she also narrates how the extras found romance and had their lives transformed by participating in the film.
