"My Mother's Disappearance" is a radical documentary born out of a series of confrontations between a mother longing to liberate herself and a son eager to use the medium of film to maintain an intimate relationship with her. She quietly and abruptly packs her bags, telling her son Beniamino that she intends to disappear from the material world forever.
