This documentary is the fourth installment in the series directed by Michael Apted, which began filming in 1964. In 1964, Michael Apted created the documentary "7 Up" for the BBC, interviewing fourteen seven-year-old children from different social classes in Britain, some coming from orphanages and others from affluent families. Every seven years thereafter, Apted would revisit these children, listening to their dreams and discussing their lives. At this point, they are now 28 years old, in the prime of their lives. Some are married with children, while others are striving to build their careers. Childhood dreams are gradually becoming a reality, and the long journey of life is just beginning. In 2012, director Michael Apted released "56 Up," continuing to faithfully document the lives of these now middle-aged "children" and the details of their everyday lives.
