This documentary is the sixth installment of director Michael Apted's documentary series that began in 1964. Michael Apted filmed the documentary "7 Up" for the BBC in 1964, interviewing fourteen seven-year-olds from different social backgrounds in the UK, some from orphanages and others from affluent families. Every seven years since, Apted has revisited these children, listening to their dreams and discussing their lives. At 42, are their careers failures or successes? Are their marriages thriving or on the brink? Some are dealing with the loss of parents, while others are facing the challenges of their children growing up. One is now a single mother raising her child alone, another is remarried. Lynn and Jackie are confronting health issues. Neil also faces a test of friendship at 42… They all need to approach life with grounded clarity.
