This documentary is the second installment of a series directed by Michael Apted that began filming in 1964. In 1964, Michael Apted filmed the documentary “7 Up” for the BBC, interviewing fourteen seven-year-old children from different social backgrounds in the UK, some from orphanages and others from upper-class families. Every seven years since, Apted has revisited these children, listening to their dreams and discussing their lives. Seven years later, these innocent children are now coming of age. They still appear naive as they face the world for the first time, and in front of the camera, they remain youthful and inexperienced. This blossoming youth marks just the first step in their long lives. Director Michael Apted once again turns the camera on the lives of these children after seven years, determined to create a documentary about the lives of British people and Western culture.
