This documentary is the seventh part of a series directed by Michael Apted that he began filming in 1964. In 1964, Michael Apted shot the documentary "7 Up" for the British BBC, interviewing fourteen seven-year-old children from different social classes in the UK, some from orphanages and others from the upper class. Every seven years since then, Apted has re-interviewed these children, listening to their dreams and discussing their lives. At forty-nine, they reflect on life, witnessing the passage of time and the changes it brings. This film compiles highlights from interviews with the participants at ages seven, fourteen, twenty-one, twenty-eight, thirty-five, and forty-two. This season of "Seven Up in Life" was nominated for the BAFTA Award and the Golden Satellite Award in 2006.
