A natural documentary about the life cycle of flamingos, filmed at Lake Natron in northern Tanzania. In a remote and forgotten wilderness, there exists one of nature's last great masterpieces: millions of flamingos with red wings are unfolding their wings, experiencing the life journey of birth, growth, and death. The film showcases many magnificent images that have never been recorded by cameras before, documenting how this endangered rare species struggles to survive. ◎Synopsis Disneynature proudly presents the first large-scale ecological documentary, taking you into mysterious realms seldom trodden by humans, revealing the mysteries of the African flamingo through stunning visuals and a captivating score. This documentary was filmed at Lake Natron in Tanzania, a lake situated at the border of northern Tanzania and Kenya, 113 kilometers northwest of Arusha, in the East African Rift Valley. The lake is 56 kilometers long and 24 kilometers wide, containing minerals such as salt, soda, and magnesium. The warm waters of the lake provide an ideal breeding ground for the Great Rift Valley flamingos. Around 4 million flamingos live in Lake Natron and the surrounding waters. In the northern part of Tanzania's Great Rift Valley, various volcanoes and lakes are situated, with Lake Lipton becoming an ideal breeding ground for flamingos due to its unique geological environment. The flamingos' feathers turn bright red only during the breeding season; they endure hardships and migrate long distances to raise their next generation, creating a series of breathtaking blueprints of life. The number of flamingos has decreased significantly in recent years due to environmental pollution and extensive hunting, bringing them to the brink of extinction. Disney's "Wings of Life" leaves behind precious visual records of flamingos, raising awareness. To film the documentary, the producers lived by Lake Natron for 14 months. This is one of the most remarkable groups in the animal kingdom. The salinity of Lake Natron in northern Tanzania exceeds that of the Dead Sea, yet it gathers a vast number of flamingos, far exceeding people's imagination. Their nesting grounds are so remote and desolate that it wasn't until 1959 that a European ornithologist discovered this toxic bird habitat. This rosy flamingo belongs to one of the six understudied bird species; they are the most colorful, enchanting, and exceptionally beautiful bird group.
